Bike to Work

Calvin is now officially set up as a cycling commuter. He got his fancy new bike at The Hub in Cotati. He got a baby seat too. The boys LOVE going for rides. I can't wait to get my bike, I think it will be a really fun family activity. We felt really good supporting a local business, and the service has been great.

This Thursday, May 17, 2007 is Bike to Work Day. Here is the City of Santa Rosa Link which also has some great links to other Sonoma County cycling info.

I'm very proud of him. Even if he does this only now and then, it's great exercise, and gets a car off the road. And if he inspires Matt to ride (sorry Erica!), then that's 2 cars off the road! Except of course that they commute together, but anyway...

And yes, this is Calvin's change, but he lives with me so I'm counting it as my one-a-day. So there.

Yea Calvin!

We have been talking about getting bikes forever, and had finally decided it would be our 10 year anniversary gift to each other (and that came and went in Feb of this year so we are way behind). Anyway, we will check out that shop. Always looking for another place to price and brand shop.

Anyone think I can get Sequoia to bike to work wiht his??? :-)

Awesome!

Nathan has stuck to it and is still riding each day to work, he loves it. We are saving a bunch on gas because we are rarely using our Saturn. Also I think it gives him a chance to chill out after work, releases some stress. Its been good for all of us!

Go Calvin go!

Go Nathan, too!!! Too far for Sequoia to realistically do it, but I am hoping to get him to use his bike (when he gets it) for other more local things like the gym and such.

Welcome Visitors!

If you're reading for the first time, it may feel a bit like you've just walked into a conversation that has been going on for awhile.

So to catch you up...

Jennifer started this blog because she was going through the process of becoming more conscious of her lifestyle choices and had decided to "go green". As she talked to her friends she quickly realized that she was not the only one interested in making changes. The blog was born. We used this as a place to discuss things we've tried and to support each other in the journey.
