Birthday

Ok, I know your going green and wanting to get organic clothing, etc...
I think it's great! But, for the sake of people who don't know your going green.
Will you accept clothes from them that were bought at Target, Macy's, Carters, Made in China, etc....Or toys for that matter?

I think that maybe that question was for Jennifer and her boys' birthdays coming right up, but if I can just say my opinion...

I think going green is a personal choice, and making the choice(s) to live in a more eco-friendly way is a decision that you make for yourself and your family. If a friend or family member gave either myself or my kids clothing from any of the places you mentioned I would graciously take the gift and say thank you! They chose to spend their time and money choosing that gift and I would be grateful. Then I would make sure that once my kids grew out of them(clothes or toys) I would pass them along, either to a friend or neighbor or The Salvation Army.

"Green" is the way I am trying to be but I don't expect everyone in my extended family to do the same. Some just aren't interested.

I personally wouldn't turn down or not "accept" a gift that someone was wanting to give to me or my kids...

Again, just my opinion, anyone else?

I second that :)

Very well said Sarah. My feelings exactly. Just like my choice to be vegetarian- I never push it on anyone else, but if it comes up I'm happy to talk about my decision. Just like I don't judge people who choose to eat meat, I don't judge people who shop at Target or buy something made in China!

Ok, I just wanted to make sure.

Welcome Visitors!

If you're reading for the first time, it may feel a bit like you've just walked into a conversation that has been going on for awhile.

So to catch you up...

Jennifer started this blog because she was going through the process of becoming more conscious of her lifestyle choices and had decided to "go green". As she talked to her friends she quickly realized that she was not the only one interested in making changes. The blog was born. We used this as a place to discuss things we've tried and to support each other in the journey.
